A Holiday For Children....  and Their Parents

Follow the twisting lane from the main road for half a mile and you will find the tranquil green oasis that is the Old Park Country Hotel.

At the Old Park we specialise in holidays for families with young children, but even during our busy times you can still find peace, space and fresh sea air.

"The most relaxing holiday I have had in the UK" .... guest 2005

This fine Gothic Victorian manor house is situated on the southern coastal path in a quiet secluded location within 16 acres of woods and garden, streams and waterfalls extending to the part sandy Binnel Bay.

To the north the Old Park Hotel is protected by the high cliffs of the Isle of Wight Undercliff. To the south the spacious hotel grounds face onto the sea.

Old Park was established as a hotel for a family holiday over 50 years ago. Today under new management the  Old Park Hotel is firmly established as one of the leading hotels for families, offering every facility for a relaxed and enjoyable holiday in a friendly atmosphere. Our aim is to provide a hotel for adults but at the same time offering special provision for children.  Many of our guests take a break at the hotel several times a year - some of those now parents, having first visited as children.

The Isle of Wight now offers many attractions for endless days of exploring. The hotel provides the perfect base for a holiday. The sandy beaches and other main attractions of the island are within easy reach by car. The island is noted for its well signposted footpaths, trails and bridle paths, which offer ever-varied scenic views.

There is a comfortable oak panelled lounge for those who wish to read quietly. Our well stocked bar is a pleasant venue for a lunchtime or pre-dinner drink. Snacks, sandwiches and light luncheons can be obtained here. Bar meals are available in the evening with a kids menu.

The Old Park enjoys a reputation for a wide choice of good, traditional British food, together with popular worldwide dishes. We willingly cater for guests who require vegetarian, diabetic or other special medical diets.

A children’s meal is provided between 4.45 and 5.45 p.m. where a traditional dinner is available, as well as a wide choice of children’s favourites. Strained or junior foods are available for young babies. There are plenty of high chairs and booster seats available if required.

During busy periods entertainment is provided in the hotel. Current acts include a magician, comedy artists and some excellent vocalists. Children’s entertainers include a Clown Music Party Show, Punch and Judy, Birds of Prey display, disco, puppet workshops, supervised playtime and a children’s magic show.

The leisure Centre is situated adjacent to the hotel and contains an indoor heated swimming pool, a large soft play area, a toddlers ball pool, a first class table tennis table, pool table and a full size snooker table. There are no additional charges for the use of any of the facilities.

Many people prefer to spend the day peacefully in the hotel grounds, where children can play safely on the slide, swings, and climbing frames and of course the sand pit. There is also the putting course, football goals, and basketball nets which are situated around the spacious lawns. The many paths through the woods provide an exhilarating family walk.

The grounds extend to a secluded part sandy beach, known as Binnel Bay, which is reached by a short walk through the grounds along a wooded path. The Isle of Wight Glass Works,  and the coastal paths are within easy walking distance. The more adventurous can walk to the Botanical Gardens, the sandy beach at Steephill Cove or even the 2 miles to Ventnor. A bus is available from the main road, which is a half a mile walk.  Many antique shops have opened in Ventnor where you will find the prices are far less than the mainland.
